The Author.

My name is Joanne Edwards. I was born in South Wales UK in a town called Llantwit Major.

As I was coming into my adulthood I got married and lived in Northern Ireland for few years. I then settled down finally in Mid Wales with my sheepdog Nellie. I have always been fond of dogs & have had dogs most of my life.

I love going out on adventures with Nellie and now I can tell you all my stories of our journey. So please sit back and grab yourself a coffee & a box of tissues and enjoy my journey.

This is a story about one woman and her faithful dog. The author is an accomplished wordsmith. This story borders on the magical, and mystical. Joanne is very obviously a dog lover. This story captures the essence of rural Wales, with its rugged hills and valleys, and its timeless beauty.  Together with the animals that share the spaces, both with each other and humans. Woven into this tale there’s an ongoing thread that encompasses deep friendship  , it’s also about  deep love and companionship, it’s also about hardships faced together it’s seen that one can face any number of trials if you’ve got the right companion so you can face the uncertainty of an unknowable  future and what it might bring. Great store is given to describing the rich uplands of Wales, and to the animals both wild, and domesticated that inhabit those areas. A great deal is made of the opportunities afforded people who embark upon a journey such as this, and also the numerous people they encounter whilst on their journey. At the end Joanne gives a moving tribute to her father who she says ‘you may no longer walk by my beside me, your presence is felt in every step I take’. Personally I found that very moving.
